Introducing She's Got Skills - a global female football platform, encouraging women from companies to express themselves via The Beautiful Game.
Inspired by the Women’s World Cup in 2019, our goal is simple; we want more women to have access to playing and participating in football. To date, we have delivered a series of 5-a-side tournaments featuring newly-formed teams from Amazon, BT Sport, Facebook, Mixcloud, Universal Music Group (inaugural winners) and Deliveroo, winners of our Women’s Football Weekend tournament.
We organise our tournaments with more than just football in mind. With such a love for the sport, we understand the clear benefits to be found in terms of personal and group development. The Sport England ‘Active Lives Adult Survey’ provides excellent insight into the ways in which individuals can experience tangibly improved outcomes relating to physical and mental health, confidence and self-esteem, leadership, performance and so on - all positive traits that can be taken from the pitch directly into the workplace.
Each footballing event consists of a fun warm-up session prior to kick-off, delivered by our FA Level 2-qualified co-founder Robert, with each team then playing a minimum of three matches on quality artificial turf. When all the football is over we host a winner’s ceremony for all participants, where individual players have the chance to win trophies across Top Scorer, Player of the Tournament and Rising Star categories. The winning team receives the coveted Champions trophy as well as additional prizes generously donated by Nike. Events have previously been hosted by Ellie Prohan, Anne-Marie Batson and Samantha Miller.
Each participating team is directly responsible for blazing a trail for women of all levels of ability and experience wanting to get involved in The Beautiful Game. This is how you #changethegame.
